Trip details

The Fall River is a stunning spring-fed creek that supports some of the strongest populations of wild trout in California. As the largest spring-fed river in California, the Fall River produces an abundance of aquatic insects, thanks to its lush underwater vegetation. The hatches here can be legendary, often sparking epic feeding frenzies from large, wild trout. The primary hatches on the Fall River include Pale Morning Duns (PMDs), Baetis, and Hexagenia, with a solid Trico hatch occurring on the upper river in late summer and early fall. Most classic mayfly patterns are effective. These fish here tend to favor slim, realistic, low-riding dry flies. Each trip includes lunch and is fully tailored to match your goals for the day.
