Trip details

During the summer, big speckled trout move into the salty waters of Breton Sound and the Chandeleur Island chain. This trip includes a 35-40 mile run early in the morning to target big trout, sharks, jack crevalle, bull redfish, bull drum, sheepshead, and the occasional tarpon. Experience the incredible fishing opportunities in and around Hopedale, Louisiana. Our trips are tailored to your preferences, with top-tier equipment, live bait, and fish cleaning included. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer, we’ve got a trip for you! Most of our fishing trips are based out of Hopedale, Louisiana, although during certain times of the year, we may fish Lake Pontchartrain when the bite is better there. Both locations are just a 45-minute drive from downtown New Orleans, making it easy for many of our clients to stay in the city and enjoy the local culture. However, we can also recommend a few lodging options near Hopedale, conveniently located close to the boat slip. Our estuary offers a diverse range of species and year-round fishing opportunities. Anglers can expect to catch redfish, speckled trout, sheepshead, black drum, flounder, largemouth bass, jack crevalle, sharks, tripletail, red snapper, and cobia. Keep in mind – we have multiple boats available to accommodate larger groups.

What's included

We take care of almost everything you’ll need for a successful and enjoyable fishing experience, including: • A LOCAL and USCG Licensed Captain with expert knowledge of the area. • Top-quality fishing tackle, including rods, reels, and gear. • Live and dead bait, customized to target the species of the day. • Ice and an ice chest to keep your drinks cold and your catch fresh on the boat. • Fish cleaning and bagging at the end of your trip so you can take your catch home, ready to cook.

What to bring

To make the most of your trip, we recommend bringing the following: • Rain suits or a light jacket for changing weather conditions. • Sunglasses (polarized if possible) for comfort and better visibility. • Sunblock (preferably no spray sunscreen) to protect your skin. • Hat for sun protection. • Food and drinks (beer is fine, but no glass bottles). • Ice chest to transport your cleaned fish home. • If you prefer, feel free to bring your own rod and reel.
