During the summer, big speckled trout move into the salty waters of Breton Sound and the Chandeleur Island chain. This trip includes a 35-40 mile run early in the morning to target big trout, sharks, jack crevalle, bull redfish, bull drum, sheepshead, and the occasional tarpon. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer, we’ve got a trip for you! Most of our fishing trips are based out of Hopedale, Louisiana, although during certain times of the year, we may fish Lake Pontchartrain when the bite is better there. Both locations are just a 45-minute drive from downtown New Orleans, making it easy for many of our clients to stay in the city and enjoy the local culture. However, we can also recommend a few lodging options near Hopedale, conveniently located close to the boat slip. Our estuary offers a diverse range of species and year-round fishing opportunities. Anglers can expect to catch redfish, speckled trout, sheepshead, black drum, flounder, largemouth bass, jack crevalle, sharks, tripletail, red snapper, and cobia. Keep in mind – we have multiple boats available to accommodate larger groups.
