Winter Catch & Release Striped Bass Fishing

While you’re preparing for colder weather ahead, so are the striped bass. They’re hungry, schooled up chasing bait, and ready to move to deeper water. This time of the year is action packed with breaking fish and diving birds. These trips are perfect for kids and new anglers, or experienced anglers looking to hone their skills. This is also a great time to break out the fly rod! This time of the year can be a grind, with freezing weather, and constant wind in the winter, but once you land one of these beautiful fish, you won't even notice your cold fingers. It is truly a magical experience landing one of these fish. We are still looking for working birds at this time in open water and using soft plastic jigs, and metal jigs to target these fish.
