Trip details
The shallows of Key West have long been hailed as some of the best sight fishing in the world. Using technical poling skiffs to silently move through the incredibly biodiverse waters surrounding the islands, we pursue our prey. This methodology is often compared to Spot and Stalking deer, because you must spot and sneak up on the fish. A game of cat and mouse if you will, flats are in a league of their own, in part because they are usually less than 6 feet *drum and snare* .Although shallow, they certainly don't lack depth…The habitat we will scour range from seagrass beds to channel edges and from algal plains to vibrant coral bottom. The biodiversity we will witness is truly incredible and each flat has a unique personality. There is nothing quite like sight casting fish; watching them, reading them, and reacting to them. It is unlike most fishing and getting to watch “The Eat” will change fishing for you forever. In the words of John Buchan “The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope”.
